Lightsaber: Part 5

Hello again!

I asked you which colour you thought I would pick for my saber in the last blog. The comments were quite interesting actually. Most of you suggested that I would pick a red or green saber. This is not the case. I actually chose to make my lightsaber blue. I'll tell you why.

My favourite character from Star Wars is Obi Wan Kenobi. Throughout the movies, Kenobi has had a blue saber. Its always appealed to me more than a green saber. I didn't choose a red one because I didn't like the red colour that the LED from the custom saber shop made.

Now that I had chosen the colour for my blade, it was time to add colour to my hilt. I had my design ready, I just needed to add a bit of colour. I thought it was just stupid to put a bright colour on saber hilt so I wanted to stick to darker colours. Here are two colour schemes that I came up with:

Tell me which colour scheme you thought I chose and I'll tell you which one I chose in the next post!

Lightsaber: Part 4

Back again guys,

Now, I think everyone in the last blog commented that they liked design number 2 better. It's amazing! I chose design 2 for my saber as well. I chose it not only for the way it looks but the room inside the hilt to place wires and such. This brings me to the topic of this post. THE INSIDE.

After deciding what my exterior was going to look like, I needed to research how to actually wire the thing up. This actually proved to be the most difficult thing. The first thing I needed to work out was if I wanted sound or not. Of course I did want sound in it.

I went down to the shops and bought myself one of those toy lightsaber's for kids and ripped it apart. I took the sound card and placed it in storage for later. At this point I knew it was going to be a difficult task due to the sound card being so small, but having multiple wires coming from it.

So guys, in the comments section I would like you to predict what colour my lightsaber actually is! Ill give you a hint. It's either green, blue, red or purple. (The typical colours for lightsabers) I think it will be interesting to see what colour people would make their lightsaber!

Sorry I couldn't provide a photo of anything this time.  Photobucket is being a pain.

Until next time, stay safe

I didn't get as much comments as I would have liked on the last blog but I cant really help that. I guess people don't want to read my blog. Don't worry though, I'll keep going and try and get my blog up and going!
